We then headed to the Farmers Home for a visit.

Our tour operator, Pacific Delight, arranged for us to visit a Chinese farmers home.  He was one of those 1.3 million displaced by the rising water of the Three Gorge project.

This is the front door to the home.  Our guide indicated that three families lived here; however we only saw the old farmer.  I am guessing that the remainder of the family was out working.

Preventative maintenance obviously was not on the to-do
list.

I have no clue as to what this item is.

This is the local farmer introduced by our National Guide, Jason and our local guide.

I normally do not do portrait work but this one turned out too
good not to post.

A toilet room.  Yes, that depression in the floor is the
toilet.  I believe the containers of water are for flushing.  I saw no
evidence of running water in this home and am not certain where water came
from.

This is the kitchen.  No running water nor did I see a
refrigerator.

Food storage.  The crocks contain fermenting and pickled vegetables.  Yes, it had an interesting odor!
