We arrived in Budapest about 10:30 PM. Easy to see why Viking planned a night arrival. The city is absolutely beautiful at night. All the major buildings are illuminated and along with the reflections in the Danube River, it was breathtaking. his first section shown some of these sights, but photographs cannot due the real thing justice. We will move to separate section (pages) for daytime activities.

All of these photos were taken from the River Boat as we entered Budapest. It was pretty much: Oh, look at the at one, Look there is another, Oh look on the other side, there’s one up on the hill. Night photography is tricky as you must shoot at a low shutter speed and a small aperture to get enough light and depth of field. Ideally you shoot using a tripod on a stable surface. On a moving boat it’s PSH! (Point and Shoot and Hope) because the subject will soon be out of sight. I will try and identify these sights in the following pages. For now, just enjoy.
We stayed on the boat that night and disembarked the following morning to move to our hotel for two days (3 nights) and tour Budapest.
