After leaving Melk we passed through the 20 mile long Wachau Valley and its’ white grape vineyards and castles before arriving in Krems.

 Schonbuhel Castle is over 1000 years old and was the property of the Bishops of Passau. The castle is known as the “Watchman of the Wachau”.

 Krems is a town of 24,110 inhabitants. It is the fifth-largest city of Lower Austria and is approximately 43 miles west of Vienna. Krems is located at the confluence of the Krems and Danube Rivers at the eastern end of Wachau valley. It is surrounded of some of Austria’s best wine growing areas

After visiting Krems we were treated to a Bavarian Buffet along with local music.  Many of the crew dressed in local traditional costume.  Dirndls looked great on the ladies.

As night descended we headed for Vienna.
